Once you find your way around the Sellics tool and understand how to navigate the Ranking feature, it is time to get our hands dirty and start with optimizing product listings for Amazon SEO.

Let’s do a little recap from last time: the Sellics Ranking feature gives you data on your overall keyword-performance, as well as your product-specific ranking information. You can research and add keywords to your general list in the Keywords tab. You can manage product listing optimizations in the product dashboard.

And that’s where we start from in this article. Remember to open the product dashboard for a product listing you want to optimize. Look for the following widget when opening up your Ranking tool:

The last time we stopped at the ‘Overview’ tab, which gives you a lot of information about the ranking performance of your product. We now move on to the ‘Keywords’ section. Start by selecting the relevant tab in your menu:

Managing keywords on product-level

In the ‘Relevant Keywords’ tab, you can research, add and delete keywords to your product. This means you will receive data on how your product listing performs on Amazon for the specific keywords you attached in the Sellics Ranking tool:

  • search volume

  • trend - your performance over time

  • current page ranking

At the end of each line, you can select whether you want to keep monitoring this keyword or not.

The green flag next to the research button gives you suggestions for relevant keywords.

Optimizing product listings

The ‘Optimize Keywords’ tab lets you take action and optimize your product listing with the keywords you found to be relevant through your keyword research. Before starting the optimization process, make sure to add all relevant keywords to the product.

  1. The first step is to place your keywords in the title and bullet points of the product listing. Double click on the area you want to make changes to (i.e. title or bullet points) and type in your text. Please be aware that this only changes the text in Sellics, but not yet in the product listing itself.

  2. Next, check the keyword list below. It contains all the keywords you have attached to the product, the search volume, if your product listing is ranking for that keyword, and where the keyword is placed within your product listing. Keywords that are marked in orange are missing from your product listing. These are automatically filled into the backend keyword bar on top of the page.

  3. In the third step, you decide on your backend keywords* and add everything to seller central. To do this, copy your title, bullet points and backend keywords, click on the Seller Central button, and add your text into your product listing on Amazon. Please keep in mind that you cannot directly add text to your product listing on Amazon from the Sellics interface.

Let's move from the 'Keyword' tab in the menu, to the 'On-Page' tab.

The On-Page gives you an overview of how you are comparing with well-ranking products in your category.

You can compare your listing with that of your competitors in terms of title, bullet points, descriptions, images, rating, and review count.

In the drop-down menu, you can filter for all the keywords you have attached to the product.

In the ‘Notes’ section, you can keep track of your changes. This is especially useful to track if your optimization efforts have had an impact on your ranking performance. 

You can compare your notes and the rankings for each keyword in the overview of the product dashboard.


The ‘Competition’ tab helps you keep an eye on the ranking performance of competing products. You can compare keyword coverage, ranking average, ranking ratio, price, and reviews.

Copy and paste the ASIN on a competitor product into the search bar, hit enter, and it will appear in your watchlist.

To make a more detailed comparison, you can click on the black arrowhead on the left side of each row.

Here you get a detailed comparison between your product listing and the competitor’s listing on a keyword-to-keyword basis.

The last item on the list is ‘Reviews’. Clicking on the ‘Review’ menu tab in your ranking feature opens up the Sellics Review feature - which we are discussing in more detail in our next post!
